The worst day of my life

This was the worst day of my life. The day was I was a first grade junior high school student. I joined the baseball club of my school, I was a pitcher. I liked to play baseball with my teammates very much, as soon as the day’s classes were finished, I changed my dress and went to play baseball. To practice was very hard but it was one of the pleasures for me too.

29th October 2003, I practiced as usual. I did warm-ups, ran around the ground, played catch with a teammate, practiced pitching and other things. When I caught fly balls hit by a baseball manager, I made errors three times in a row, so I got impatient, I prepared myself so I wouldn’t make errors the next time!! The manager knocked a fly ball to me. The ball flew up just between the catcher and me. He and I ran to the ball. I was running very hard and only looked only at the fly ball because I didn’t want to make another error next time. At that time, other teammates and the manager shouted for us to watch out, but because we were running too hard and just looked at the ball, we didn’t hear the voices. Just as they feared, we ran into each other, I fell down first on the ground, and he fell down on top of me. Then, every movement of my foot caused pain. I didn’t understand what happened at first, but I noticed what happened to my body when my feeling returned to. When everyone ran up around us and asked if we were ok, the catcher said he was ok as soon as he stood up. However I couldn’t say anything then. I was desperately feeling the pain. After that, I was brought to the hospital by ambulance, after I reached the hospital, the X ray, blood test and a thorough examination of my right side began. It took about two hours.

My parents and my young brother came to the hospital while I waited for the result of these examinations. My family worried about me very much which I appreciated

We were talking with for some time when a doctor came in a consulting room, and told us the contents of examinations. The contents were more terrible than we expected, my ligament was considerably damaged. After I listened to the doctor, my right foot was placed in a cast and held tight. The doctor said if I had an operation, my foot could recover completely after five months, but if I didn’t have it, it would take eight months. As soon as I heard this, I answered that I didn’t want to do, because I knew if I had an operation, there was a possibility that remained problem. The doctor said my answer might be right, because I was young. And if I was young, I didn’t need to have the operation.

After that I couldn’t run, ride a bicycle and play baseball I love.

So 29th October 2003 is the one of the worst day of my life.
